Not so power hungry DPG/FormFittings - eco2power TM launched at Prima
Leading cable management and ergonomics accessories company DPG/FormFittings chose Prima’07 to preview an exciting and revolutionary new energy saving desk module - eco2power TM
DPG/Form Fittings have researched, designed and manufactured an innovative energy saving desk power system, specifically designed for the office. The system comes suited for either computer or laptop users with a six power socket desk system. Typically this is in the form of 4 sockets under the desk and 2 sockets on the desk for mobile and ipod chargers etc. The power modules have 1 master (red) socket which is always powered, this socket is used for the computer’s CPU.
Between this socket and the other five sockets in the system there is a USB connection and unique electronics which enables the desk power system to monitor when the mouse and keyboard are not being used, and senses when the CPU goes into stand by mode. Once the computer is not in use the pre-set time lapse shutdown of the 5 peripheral equipment sockets begins.
There is a very simple programme that installs the system in a way similar to that when installing a wireless mouse. The programme includes a GUI (graphic user interface), this is a simple information window that can be viewed on screen, which allows the user to see a cumulative and ongoing saving the system (and the individual user) has achieved over time. This is shown in terms of KG’s CO2 saved, KW hours saved etc. and should serve to engage the individual user into the whole energy saving process. The software allows the individual desk energy savings that are displayed to be accumulated by floor or section. This gives the FM full information on savings across all users.
Rova wins FIRA 2006 Ergonomic Excellence award for DPG/Form Fittings
DPG/Form Fittings has just received the highly coveted Ergonomics Excellence award from FIRA
for the company’s best-selling Rova laptop support.
Avoiding fatigue in arms, hands and neck has driven some countries to introduce legislation which limits
laptop use without the necessary ergonomic tools, to as little as two hours. The Rova laptop support
is a portable ergonomic tool which, if used in conjunction with an external mouse and external keyboard,
gives compliance to the legislative guidelines and allows laptop users to work, legally, safely and comfortably,
for much longer periods.
Of ultra lightweight construction the Rova is a truly portable product, which folds flat to a thickness
of 12.5mm so it fits in a laptop case for easy portability. The innovative design includes a detachable
keyboard screen and document holder. Adjustability to five height settings ensures that laptop screens
can be positioned at the most appropriate user height.
